Dr Leo Liu is a registered specialist periodontist in both Australia and New Zealand, with over 10 years of clinical experience in periodontal and implant dentistry. He completed his specialist training at the prestigious University of Hong Kong, earning a Master of Dental Surgery in Periodontology (2013–2016). He was subsequently admitted as a Specialty Member in Periodontics by both the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
Dr Liu previously served as a private practitioner and honorary clinical assistant professor at the University of Hong Kong. His research in periodontology has received international recognition and was cited in the 2017 World Workshop’s Classification of Periodontal and Peri-Implant Diseases and Conditions. Since relocating to Australia, Dr Liu has worked extensively across metropolitan Sydney, and is now proud to provide specialist care at Gum & Dental Implant Centre in Wollongong, serving the Illawarra region.

He is known for tailoring treatment plans to each patient’s individual needs, with a focus on long-term functional and aesthetic outcomes. Dr Liu is also fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, and strives to make all patients feel welcomed and informed throughout their care journey.
Dr Kritesh is a registered Prosthodontist in Australia and New Zealand. He received his specialist training from the University of Melbourne from 2018 to 2021 and was awarded Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics. He has worked in both public and private practices and has held teaching positions at the Fiji National University and University of Sydney. Apart from having a strong clinical background, Dr Kritesh was also a recipient of research grants from various organisations such as the Australian Prosthodontic Society, the Australian Dental Research Foundation Inc. and the Melbourne Dental School which enabled him to carry out and publish his most notable research project in the prestigious Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry.
Dr Kritesh has been practicing as a Prosthodontist in the Illawarra since he completed his specialist training and is now excited to provide the best quality care to his patients by working alongside Dr Liu. He is a firm believer in teamwork and a multi-disciplinary approach, focusing on improving the oral health quality of life of individuals. As a Prosthodontist, Dr Kritesh is an expert in wholistic treatment planning and has a keen interest in aesthetic dentistry, managing tooth wear, providing implant prostheses and full mouth rehabilitations.
Outside of work, Dr Kritesh enjoys travelling and playing sports, especially soccer. Since moving to the South Coast, he has picked up fishing as a hobby and is always on the lookout for new hiking spots.
Ashley is a Canadian-born registered Oral Health Practitioner, accredited with both the New Zealand Dental Hygiene Association and the Australian Dental Hygiene Association. She brings over ten years of clinical experience across general and specialist dental practices, having trained at the highly regarded University of Alberta Mike Peteyk School of Dentistry.
Since joining the practice in 2025, Ashley has been dedicated to making a tangible, positive impact on patients’ lives. Working closely with the expert clinical team, she contributes to advanced periodontal maintenance and education, staying at the forefront of emerging technologies in oral health. Her approach is guided by mentorship and ongoing learning from leading experts in the field at our office, ensuring every patient receives care that is both precise and compassionate. Ashley has swapped skis for sunshine, embracing the vibrant coastal life on the South Coast.
